Starting from SHARE with a bus trip to Ballyconnel on the Erne Shannon Link. You will be dropped off with paddling and camping equipment. You will start your trip along the River Erne. The trip will take you to areas only reachable by canoe. You will attempt to catch your dinner and learn bushcraft skills including sustainable fire lighting techniques, shelter building and navigation in this serene and tranquil environment. Paddling onto Crom Estate where you will set up camp for the evening. With wild deer, Pine Marten and Irelands oldest Yew Trees, this National Trust Property is truly amazing. A walk around this vast estate is a must. The following morning you will paddle back to SHARE through reed beds filled with Heron and Swan stopping at the island of Insihrath - where the Hare Krishna community leads a way of life inspired by the 5000 year old Vedic Texts of ancient India. A stop on Trannish Island Tee Pees where the new bothy is being built before returning to Share. |
