Our experienced instructor will guide you around the islands, showing you the best locations to see seals and other local fauna and flora in this Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Get a flavour of the rich history of this amazing location, including St Patrick's return to Ireland, and the Vikings influence on the area.
We can supply a picnic, or bring your own for lunch on one of the many islands. Perfect activity for families, couples or friends wanting a day getting away from it all.
We offer a guided or self-guided outdoors experience in a mystical majestic setting. 50 miles long and up to six miles wide, beautiful Lough Erne in County Fermanagh is one of the largest waterways in the UK. It is divided into two parts, the Lower and Upper, which are joined by the River Erne.
The Lough has more than 300 islands and you can paddle wherever you like. You’ll cruise through narrow passages, past historical settings and wooded islands and venture past deserted peninsulas. You’ll swim, gather firewood, cook in the wild and maybe end your day telling stories around the campfire or fishing from the rocks.
You can visit neolithic Celtic tombs, ancient monasteries, castles and check out lookouts. Make this holiday a true adventure among friends and come and enjoy the solitude and wilderness of this stunning area! You’ll feel free – it’s as simple as that!
We take care of all the practical aspects of your adventure. We’ll meet you anywhere on the lough and help to launch you on your way. We go through information about the area and navigation as well as basic paddling skills. When finally paddling off into the wild on your own you’ll have good maps, phone contact & weather reports and a booklet with lots of info about the sights & history of the area, paddling, flora & fauna, fishing and much more. For the less experienced paddlers or for that extra piece of mind one of our guides can stay with you throughout the trip.
