On the East Coast of Ireland we have little to no reliable surf, however on the North coast there are some of the best conditions Europe has to offer, providing us with fantastic natural playground. This year East Coast Adventure will be taking groups of young people to the North Coast to introduce them the fantastic sport of surfing and body boarding. They will also camp out, help cook their own food and much more. This is one of the best self esteem building activities for teenagers that we offer.

8am After breakfast a quick dip in the sea and then time to pack up and head for home.
2pm Arrive back in Warrenpoint

Based in the Mourne Mountains, the Survivor programme is aimed to teach young people how to travel in the wilderness and survive for up to 3 days without shelter, running water, toilets or cooking equipment.

We will teach them all they need to know from how to light and manage a fire safely to building shelters.

Participants will also be shown how to cook their own food and purify water. This programme has been designed to teach young people a respect for nature and each other and will also boost self-confidence.

9pm Find materials to make a fire, build camp, earn and cook supper.

Saturday
8am Start to collect and win all the necessary equipment to survive for one more night. Climb Slieve Donard, locate the cliff where dinner is suspended ½ way down!

Sunday
8am After breakfast each team will paddle their raft to the safety of the mainland. Before jumping on the bus to be reunited with their families back in Warrenpoint
1pm Arrive back to Warrenpoint

Back by popular demand, East Coast Adventure will be running a series of introduction and lessons in the sport of kayaking. New to the programme this year we will be adding banana boating to the evening, just encase you didn’t get wet enough kayaking.

Open to all ages and abilities, there is no better way to enjoy an evening in the great outdoors. Booking advisable this will be open on a first come first served basis.

The Sessions will take place every Tuesday and Thursday evening from the Centre in Warrenpoint. Please call and book you place in advance.

"Outdoor Laser Quest is an exciting new activity that is played in 2 teams using the latest high tech digital equipment. It captures the excitement of 'cowboys and indians' that we enjoyed in our youth, and harnesses the competitive spirit that we all possess.
Above all, however, this activity is FUN.
Played in a purpose-built game zone, different objectives and scenarios will challenge participants to work together to eliminate the opposing team, and achieve the various objectives, including Capture the Flag and Protect the President.
Laser Quest is safe and suitable for participants of all ages (above 8 years) and fitness levels."

Lough Neagh

This 2-day course is the starting block for providing the skills and background knowledge to become a competent powerboat driver. Successful completion of this course also leads to the International Certificate of Competence - ICC - if a UK citizen or permanent resident; for vessels up to 10 metres. The minimum age is 12, however the certificate will be endorsed until reaching 16th birthday with; "The holder should only use a powered craft under the supervision of a responsible adult"

The courses covers:
• Preparation: launch and recovery, safety equipment, lines and fenders, fuel tanks
• Boat handling and manoeuvres: effects of current or tide, high and low speed manoeuvring, propeller controls, securing to a buoy, anchoring, leaving and coming alongside, man overboard
• Theory and background: types of craft and engine, maintenance checks, IRPCS (International Regulations for the Prevention of Collision at Sea), weather forecasts, emergency action

You may know these machines as Jet Skis. They can be single-seater machines or can take two or three people. They are fast and exciting, but need to be handled with care.
Whether you just want to have a go on holiday or buy your own machine, our course will teach you how to get the best from it.
Our Personal Watercraft course is designed for first time and experienced riders alike. Increasingly our certificate is required for launching in UK harbours, but is also needed if you want to use your PW abroad.
All new PWs are sold with a voucher towards the cost of this course and, once passed, you are issued with a certificate of proficiency.
Most courses take place over one day and can be taken either on a centre's craft or your own.

Each Sunday Afternoon from 2-6pm East Coast Adventure will open its doors to families wishing to take part in any of the water sports we have on offer.

3. The basics of Mountain safety to include hazard awareness, avoidance and emergency procedures.
4.To enjoy the natural environment responsibly using the principles of ‘Leave No Trace’.

What is the course format?

Basic theory shall be covered each morning in our centre while other elements shall be introduced throughout the 3 days with emphasis on the practical application of the theory while out and about walking. All of the basics shall be covered on days 1 and 2 during two wild country walks and put into practice on day 3 on a summit walk to include Slieve Donard, Northern Irelands highest peak.

What is the course format?

Basic theory shall be covered each morning in our centre while other elements shall be introduced throughout the 3 days with emphasis on the practical application of the theory while out and about biking. All of the basics shall be covered on days 1 and 2 during two wild country trails and put into practice on day 3 on a cross country combo trail.

If you find yourself hooked on biking, you can enjoy a range of coastal trails or explore the Mourne Coastal Plain in your free time on Mountain Bike.

What about local weather conditions?

Due to the flexibility of the course and the versatility of the region, weather rarely impinges upon the course, and remember there’s no such thing as poor weather just poor clothing!

Our cottages are located beside our Mournes centre adjacent to the village of Annnalong, over looking the historic Harbour. With direct access to a range of coastal and rural walks and only a short drive from the High Mournes, the cottages offer a unique getaway.

So, to make sure you get the most from Life and from your stay we are offering you the following;

Book any weekend stay (2 nights) in one of our traditional cottages and get a third nights stay complimentary, or,

Book any mid-week stay (3 nights) in one of our traditional cottages and get a fourth nights stay complimentary.

Our cottages are fully fitted self catering cottages sleeping from 3 to 5 residents. All central heating, lighting and linen is included within the overall cost. All cottages also have open fires with fuel available at an extra cost.

Dogs are welcome with prior notice.

How about effortlessly gliding through the calm waters of Strangford Lough? This is one of our favourite locations in Northern Ireland for kayaking. Beginning at Portaferry or Whiterock, you'll be rewarded with an abundance of marine creatures, astonishing scenery, uninhabited islands and beautiful wildlife. You never know, you might even get a seal or porpoise popping up beside you!

This guided tour with one of our qualified and enthusiastic coaches lasts 2-3 hours and will provide you with an unforgettable experience exploring this beautiful body of water.

All the equipment is provided; boat, buoyancy aid, spray deck and paddle. There’s no need for any special kit, all you need to do is turn up in comfortable clothing and bring an old pair of trainers and a waterproof jacket, with a change of clothes in case you get wet. Of course, if you have your own wetsuit, gear or equipment, you are welcome to bring those too.

This guided tour with one of our qualified and enthusiastic coaches over 2 days and 1 night will provide you with an unforgettable experience. You never know, you might even get a seal or porpoise popping up beside you!

All equipment is provided; boat, buoyancy aid, spray deck, paddle, camping kit, cooking equipment, food etc. There’s no need for any special kit, all you need to do is bring warm comfortable clothing for the trip. Of course, if you have your own wetsuit, gear or equipment, you are welcome to bring those too.
